Blu Healthcare is seeking experienced Casual Disability Support Workers for a potential Temp-to-Perm opportunity within Supported Independent Living (SIL) homes located in Banora Point and Tweed Heads.
This role involves supporting participants with complex care needs while delivering high-quality, person-centred support in a residential setting.
About the role
- Provide support to participants living in Supported Independent Living (SIL) arrangements.
- Work within a 24-hour care model across a variety of shifts, including morning shifts (from 6:00 AM), afternoon shifts (from 2:00 PM), and sleepover shifts.
- Assist participants with personal care, hygiene, medication administration, manual handling, meal preparation, domestic duties, and community access.
- Support participants with epilepsy and seizure management, following individual care plans and protocols.
- Provide both one-on-one and shared support within a group home environment.
- Transport participants to appointments, social activities, and community outings using your own reliable vehicle.
- Deliver person-centred support that promotes independence, choice, and quality of life.
Essential Experience
- Previous experience working within SIL disability support services
- Certificate III or IV in Disability / Individual Support.
- Experience supporting participants with Epilepsy and Seizure Management
- Demonstrated experience with Catheter Care
- Experience with personal careand medication assistance
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Full working rights in Australia.
- Qld driver's license
- A roadworthy, registered, and insured vehicle
- Current Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
- Current National Police check
- Current First Aid/CPR Certificate
- NDIS Worker Orientation Certificate "Quality, Safety and You"
Highly Desirable
- Midazolam Administration Training Certificate (preferred) or willingness to obtain.
